Welcome Week: Schedule of Events

Welcome Week at Wittenberg University is the second-part in the Destination Wittenberg: New Student Orientation series.

We hope that the events listed below will inform and entertain, but most of all, we hope that our new students learn everything they need to know about their new college home. Please note that all bolded events are required for all first-year students, and times and locations are subject to change.

Q: Is Welcome Week Required?

A: Yes! Welcome Week—one of the best traditions at Wittenberg is required for all incoming students! Students are paired with a Tiger Team—an upper-class peer leader who will be your guide and built-in support as you begin college!

Q: Do I have to attend all events?

A: Most students attend all events, however, the sessions on the schedule that are BOLD are mandatory for all incoming students!  When you check in on Move-in Day you will receive your individualized schedule that will have the time and locations for sessions.

Q: When do I move into the Residence Halls?

A: All residential students received an email from Residence Life that outlines your specific time to move into your residence hall. All incoming students have an assigned time between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024.

Q: When do commuter students arrive on Thursday, August 22, 2024?

A: Commuter students and their parents/families kick off Welcome Week with a Commuter Student Welcome & Orientation session starting at 2:00 pm in Shouvlin 105. If you have questions, contact Drew Sawyer from COMPASS at sawyera@3588612.com.

Q: What is a Tiger Team?

A: Your Tiger Team is comprised of your classmates from your First-year seminar and is led by 2-3 upper-class peer leaders! This group becomes a great “Home-base” for you as you will have class weekly with this group and many may have similar academic interests! When our graduating seniors look back on their experience, they often note that they made connections through their Tiger Team group!
